Reorganised again but for good reason...

So there is good surf forecast and nice weather forecast but no competition ...why? We were told during the Worlds that the weekend which the Brits was reorganised to clashed with the Scottish Championships and a Surf coaching weekend in Devon. We could still have run the event and hoped as many people as possible would turn up however we decided that it was not the best thing to do. When we agreed to run this comp we wanted to get as many people to it as possible inparticular from parts of the country which had not managed to attend in the past. By holding it on a weekend when other event were taking place seemed to unnecessarily rule people out from competing, not a good thing for a national event. Since making the decision Scotland has postponed their comp but the surf event in Devon still left attendance issues for others. Reorganising the event again was a very hard decision as so many people are supporting the event and we are determined it will run. The event will now take place in Feburary we will keep the format the same with camping and evening BBQ and will also have hot food available through out the day as we appreciate winter surfing is chilly! Hopefully the event will be even bigger as it is propsed to hold a round of the HP comp at the same time. We will keep you updated with dates when they are decided. THANKS to all of you for your interest and support you will all make this event fantastic when it runs.

Happy surfing

Registration

It has been pointed out to use by a number of people that they will not be able to make registration between 7pm and 9pm on Friday night due to traveling. Therefore we will extend registration on Friday until 10pm and have it available again on Saturday morning between 6am and 7am. Hopefully this will mean everyone will be able to register before the competition starts on the Saturday.

Directions to the Brits.

From the south on the A1.....

You are basically heading for AMBLE. Turn right off the A1 about 4 miles after it goes single carriage way after Morpeth. At the first cross roads turn Left. Take the next Right. Go over the railway and take the next Right. Drive along the open cast road until you reach the A1068. Turn Left and about 1 mile up the road you will see a sign for the country park on the Right. It will have a sign for the comp too.

From the North on the A1....
Turn off at Alnwick. Follow signs for the town centre. At the T junction in Alnwick turn Left for Amble. Drive the A1068 south thought Amble (about 8 miles) and continue until you see a junction on the Left which is signed for the country park (it is about 2 miles South of Amble). If you start driving passed wooden houses on your right you have gone too far!!

It is really easy to find. The country park seems to be marked on most road maps if my instructions are no use!
